Liquidnet Family High School – From the Principal
On January 12, 2009, the LiquidNet Family High School at the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village opened its doors to its first 125 students, ages 15 through 18. LiquidNet Family High School, named after its American Sponsor, is nestled in the hills of the Rwamagana District in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. It sits on the peak of a hill, overlooking Lake Mugasera as well as rolling hills which stretch on for miles. The school’s elevated location is deliberate and shows the importance we give to Education; it also symbolizes the students’ ability to see far into the future and to cultivate noble ambitions, which bring value to themselves, their communities, and the global society.

From the Director – January 2009
Six weeks have passed since our children arrived in the village. For all of us it has been very intensive. We had to be creative, flexible, and work for long hours. I can say that it is all worth it and that it is very rewarding – our kids are smiling and are enjoying their lives in the village and with us.
It is not an easy task to start something from the very beginning. It is very complicated to start a youth village since it encompasses so many aspects of life -from plumbing to education, from farming to wellness center and many more. It seems that everybody in the village is ready to do his and her best to reach our long term goals. This readiness of everyone is not restricted to the Agahozo-Shalom staff alone but encompasses Fair Construction employees, Bear and many others who are working together in order to realize our dream.
